Chimneys & Fireplaces Question

Replacing floor boards after chimney removal?

I want chimney breast removed from the ground floor of a Victorian end of terrace house. It has already been removed from the floor above and from the loft many year's ago by the previous owner.

However, where it went through the 1st floor floor, the floorboards weren't "extended" to meet the wall - the chimney looks like it was just filled and it forms the basis of part of the floor on the first floor.

When the chimney breast is removed, it will effectively leave a hole in the floor above it. How do I brace/bracket/extend the floor boards where the chimney was in the floor above it?

Many thanks
