Bomb shelter removal
Just read this question:
which is pretty much what i'm after. We're also in Bristol and also have a bomb shelter in the garden which has to go.
The difference being in addition to the 4 thick brick walls and an 8" thick slab of concrete for the roof, on top of that we have a HUGE dome shaped blob of concrete with reinforcing bars through it.
I've no idea how you could use a disk cutter to cut a blob that's way thicker than any circular blade could be, the best you'd do is annoy it.
I've read in lots of places to light a fire in it to weaken the brick walls, but that's not going to help with the lump. Not sure if a hydraulic breaker would work either.
Anyone have any ideas?
(Or is there someone local who would like to get paid to level the damn thing?)
Extra points on this - access for any heavy equipment like diggers or backhoes is not possible. Hand tools only i'm afraid.
This Type of task would need to be undertake by A Company/person that has the experience within the demotion or groundworks industry using equipment such as Excavators with hydraulic breaker attached this is not a DIY project as it is highly dangerous, the burning/fire is method used back in the late 70s early 80s and has been made illegal due to the dangers around such a method, as concrete contains air pockets which when heated burst which can be highly dangerous to people to the area
I would advise you to contact a suitable contractor

Almost certainly far too late but I am local (less than 20 miles) and my company regularly undertakes demolition work.
