MDF cladding

I have a customer who is keen to use a primed 9mm cladding system. What sort of expansion gaps is this Likely to want. As they want it butting up to a rail 3/4 way up a wall ?? Any ideas

This would depend on weather its in a high moisture content area, ie kitchen/bathroom, in a bathroom i wouldn't want to use anything but green mdf and would allow a very small expansion gap, in normal areas you shouldn't need any gap providing there has been a correct painting system applied...outside i definately wouldn't use mdf...
