Closed panel timber frame systems

Anonymous user 4 March 2021 - 9.36 PM

I’m looking to replace an existing lean-to, which is 13m long and 1.5m wide. The building will continue to be an outside /garden building and will be used for storage, potting shed and garden room. So as I’m not looking for this to be habitable room, I’m considering the build structures for this. I want either all or at least 1/3 of the roof to allow natural light through (polycarbonate or glass) and the external walls to be cladded (composite perhaps). I’d like the structure to be fairly well insulated such that it can be used for more months of the year. I came across a Closed panel time frame system whilst watching a tv programme, and was really impressed with how quickly this was erected and how good this looked. Does anyone have any experience of companies that supply and fit such systems?

Not that company but essentially you want to build out of timber with celotex sheathing or between timbers. The polycarbonate roof is your heat sink. So pointless gojng too far with insulating the walls...as so much will go through the roof.
