Radiator not working!

Anonymous user 03/03/2024 - 3.36 PM

I’ve recently removed a radiator for decorating and just reinstalled it. I’ve re pressured the combi system. Bleed the radiator and water comes out, adjusted valve, but it doesn’t heat up! Not even at the bottom. What I can test/check before calling a professional? Cheers

1.Check pressure at boiler is 1. 5 bar when cold. 2.Check both valves is open, if they are open 3. Turn other radiators down. If radiator still cold you can remove radiator and put mains pressure with hose pipe at one side of radiator to blow blockage. When radiator is off check pipework blockage by attaching hose and open valve. Don't forget to top up inhibitor in your system.

Hi there, i would firstly check both valves are on correctly, especially the lock shield side. If no luck after that, it might be worth removing the thermostatic head and pushing the pin down a few times to see if thats stuck. Sounds like one side isnt working if you are able to bleed it. If all of that fails, theres a blockage at the valve or the valve is broken in the off position and needs replaced. I hope that makes sense.
