Plumbing Question

Fortic combination unit - two switches?!

I have just moved into a flat which has a Fortic combination unit. The unit has two switches. Can someone tell me what the two switches are for? Does one heat the big tank at the bottom and one the small tank? What is the best way to get hot water in the morning?

Hi, yes you have two inmersion heaters which gives you cheaper electric, which is economy seven, so you can heat hot water overnight kindregards colin.

you will probably find that 1 switch controls one element which is supplied by economy 7 at night time, and the 2 nd switch is fed from the consumer unit( fuseboard) during daytime. you should have 2 fuseboards for this hope this helps, regards Terry.
