Fencing Question

Bodged fencing job

Hi, my neighbour has just had a fence erected on our boundary line, however he must have been a cowboy, because he didn't dig down deep enough to install the posts, he filled up level with the surrounding earth with concrete on my side of the fence and left my side a complete mess even treading down my plants and leaving screws and nails in my garden. I have mentioned it to the fencer but there is not much now that he can do. Please could you advise what to do. My neighbors are obviously delighted with the job, but why must i suffer the bodge up? My garden looks unsightly with lumps of concrete showing.

Hi, not nice but you have to make your mind up if you wish to tell the neighbour and ask him to sort it or just sort it yourself if you don't wont to up set next door. Good luck, Colin.

I would be getting your neighbour over your side and show him asap.

how do you know what depth they dug down??? it is quite common for a fencer to trample on peoples plants etc and to leave concrete on show, level with surrounding area but this does not make them cowboys. I would call them very inconsiderate but not cowboys. If you are on good terms with your neighbour then speak to them but if the fencer has already gone then there is no point as he will not come back to tidy your side up, even if you pay him! Personally I would tidy it up myself, reluctantly, and bite my tongue, again reluctantly, to save my relationship with my neighbour.
