Extensions Question

Damp proof course for garage

I have got a kitchen extension with a utilty on the side with a garage at the front of the utilty and the garage floor is 150mm or 2 courses lower than the utility and kitchen floor. I would like to know if the dpc has to stay on the same course as the utility and extension, which is the right dpc level, or has it got to be stepped down to from the utility the garage floor height? thx .

yes lap the dpc up and into the existing dpc but lay the new dpc at floor level or 150mm above ground level external as a minimum

keep the DPC Level the same as the existing house walls. in the garage it will be 150mm above the finished concrete floor. if you are doing a garage conversion then do as ross suggests.
