Bringing the washing machine inside and connecting to sink.

Anonymous user 16/03/2024 - 2.35 PM

Hi, I currently have my washing machine in the utility cupboard outside in my alleyway. Is it possible to bring this inside and connect it to the sink as there is no other place for water to drain in the current kitchen? Or if you can advise a better way to bring the washing machine inside, the other option is in the porch but again there is no drainage? Please help. Thanks

Hi zaira. So, it's outside at the moment and there is no room / place for it in the kitchen due to no way to drain it. Saville Hunt has given a good answer in regard to a (kitchen) sink, however, are you perhaps asking if it can be connected to the (bathroom) sink.? If so, the answer is no. No washing machine should be in a bathroom due to electrical safety reasons. Good luck, Bob.

Hi Zaira, If i understand you correctly ,then here is what i would recommend. If you change your waste trap under the sink to a waste trap that incorporates a washing machine spigot then you can simply connect to it.
