Boiler case getting really hot..is it safe?

I have a very old boiler...a Concord WRS, when I got back from holiday I turned the heating on and after a while noticed the metal case covering was really hot. Does anyone have any idea what it could be, I would expect you'll say I need a new boiler which is on the cards but not this month!! Is it still safe to use? Any answers would be greatly appreciated! Thanks Laura

If you have any suspicion that boiler isnt working fine, you should get Gas Safe Registered engineer to check it asap. Regards paulgas
