Which side of the boundary post?

hi! we have an ancient concrete boundary post between us and the neighbour. it is his boundary fence. which side of the concrete post should the fence post for his new fence be attached please? it could make a difference of at least 8inches!!!

hi, if putting new fence post but leaveing old boundary post in, then new posts should be between old posts ie inline, if not he will need to put them on inside his side so as not to pinch any of your land good luck colin.
