Floorboards rubbing on pipe

Anonymous user 1 August 2020 - 2.47 PM

When looking to fix our creaky floorboards my husband noticed that one of the boards is rubbing on a radiator pipe which doesn't seem to been laid low enough. What would be the best way to fix this?

Hi, this happend because floor is expand. To fix this need to cut the floor board around the pipe. You can do this with multi cutter to cut around or ask someone perfessional.

If there is some movement around the pipe an engineer could clip it to a joist. Alternatively & a bigger job is to drain down the system & fit a new piece of copper pipe if possible away from the floorboards.

Simply notch out under the pipe with a chisel.
