Plumbing Question

System pressure increase on boiler.

I have an oil fired Boulter Combi Boiler, the system pressure gauge has always been at 1.5 bar, recently it has been creeping up to 3.2 bar then PRV opens, I changed out the filling valves in case they were faulty no luck, I had my suspisions that it might be the heat exchanger so I shut off mains water and opened water taps, my logic being that the pressure from the heat exchanger would drop through the leak to the domestic supply, no luck pressure held at 3 bar all day, any advise welcome.

Check expansion vessel,
Small shredded valve (similar to bicycle tyre valve), take off dust cap and depress pin.
If water comes out, then vessel has split internally.
If no water / no air, or just a little air, then vessel requires pumping up!
Use car tyre foot pump.

Kind Regards,
