Roof ventilation

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.56 PM

Are my vents in my walls sufficient to ventilate the roof. I don't have cavity wall insulation, so presumably the air will flow up into the roof. I am trying to find out if I need vents on fascia or soffit or are the wall vents enough? Also, which is better/cheaper soffit vents or over fascia vents?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Yes your roof will need ventilation.... air bricks at ground level are insufficient

You would need to fit vents to soffits or maybe to facia boards to the front and rear of the roof to give good ventilation if not enough ventilation it may cause damp in roof space and may cause other problems in the future

Vented soffits and tile vents in your roof would be the answer your looking for. Both these options will allow your roof to breathe.
