Hi,
Yes it is possible to just remove the old Double Glazed units (just the glass), and change over for a different style/type of glass. In doing this it is more cost effective way of improving the appearance of the windows/doors without changing or disturbing the existing windows/doors and aperture surround.
Hope this helps..
Regards,
Matt

Yes you can change just the glass in your windows. The rule of thumb is the older the windows say five /ten/fifteen years old the less cost effective that becomes because the cost of a new window is not much more than the glass itself. As for doors you should aim for a modern secure composite door front and back for obvious reasons .

Yes it is possible to replace the glass, which will more than likely come with more Benefits than just a new design due to modern double glazing being more thermal efficient and if required you could replace any hinges/handles/gaskets to up cycle the window and eliminate any draughts that may have appeared, I hope that helps.

Yes you can just replace the actual double glazed units and keep existing frames. You have to use safety glass where required though.

Yes changing the glass is easy and can be very cost effective. Depending on the age of the frames sometimes it can be better to replace the frames to an internally beaded A Rated system and have guarantees to match. There are many stylish systems available , perhaps a visit to a local showroom may give you some options. If just changing the glass , have the tradesmen check all gaskets are intact and correct as old failing gaskets will lead to new glass breaking down quickly than guaranteed.

Hi if u want to change the style of the whole window ie the frame. You need to change the style of the window. Example, from a top opener to side opener, from standard casement window to old style box slider etc.
But you can just change glass units from clear to obscure or add designs incorporating glass bevels, colours, lead or Georgian bar, single or numerous.
Hope this is helpful regards Ian

It is very easy to change the glass, first of all correct measurements need to be taken.
The replacment panels can be ordered then fitted once ready to collect.
I'd suggest shopping around on prices.
Kind regards.

Yes you can change the glass.
But you must consider the age of the existing window frames.
If they are over 20yrs old then I would say change the lot. Why.!!
Because the old frames will have worn out hinges & locks and a thin sealed glass unit in the frame (ie 20mm thick) and externally beaded.(poor security)
Your choice But all new windows by us are A rated with 28 mm (min) glass units or triple glazed and internally beaded. HIGH SECURITY

Hi , yes you can change them if they are pvc if they are timber it can still be achieved but a little bit of damage to the glazing bead may occur, I would recommend that if the pvc windows and doors are approaching 15 yrs plus would it be worth spending on glass ?
