Bathroom shaved light won’t work

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.48 PM

We have a bathroom shaver unit with a strip light that has stopped working. I ordered another couple (an energy saver one and a normal filament one) as from looking at the original bulb the filament had gone and was loose. However, the light doesn’t work anymore and I’m not sure why. I’ve checked the main Fuze box and nothing has tripped. Any advice gratefully recieved! I thought I could add pics to this, but as I can’t, the bulb is a 284mm strip tube - 220-240v/ 50hz

Have you put the cover back on before trying the new tube? These lights are normally designed to only work when the cover is in place.

A wire has broken in the fitting or the lamp holder has failed

Hi Could be a number of things: Broken/poor connection, Loose connection wherever the cable for the time is connected into, Some lights have a control/starting part which maybe faulty even if the lamp is ok, How old is it? Could moisture be getting on? Many variables or possibilities.
