Best dust sheet/dust guard for sealing up a room ?

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 2.50 PM

I need to seal one room from the rest of the house to rip down the plaster & lath ceiling and re-skim. What's the best way to keep this room sealed off from the rest of the house ? I was just going to buy thick plastic sheeting and tape up the door but much prefer the look of things like:- http://www.dustguard.co.uk/ http://www.protection.co.uk/products/zipwall-zip-door-kit/ But I'm looking for one that I can use that doesn't need to be taped to the door frame and that fits WITHIN the door frame (in some sort of adjustable 'inner frame'). I've seen it for a drying out where they seal the room off and use a air movers & dryers. Can't find them again now though and it's driving me nuts...... Anyone ever seen it ?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

We are doing this day in day out, Seal up door with polythene and duct tape, around and on the floor, Sheet up flooring attaching polythene to the skirting boards along with the dust sheets, always seperate laths from the black mortar when taking down ceiling, fill bags with laths and seperate black mortar into other bags. clean up before opening your door, pick up sheets and bag, open door and take all rubbish outside, fold up all polythene that is attached to your skirting boards and throw away, this cuts the work down to half the time. secret is polythene under your dust sheets plus seperating laths whilst taking down.
