Carpentry & Joinery Question

What is the average cost for flooring (not converting) a loft?

Hi there,

For a 3 bed semi, with no joist repositioning, etcetc, what is a suitable or average quote for this work?

No loft clearance is required beforehand, it's all clear with only the basic insulation layer in.

There are no obstructing beams apart from the standard W frames.

Many thanks!

Hard to say as we do not know the exact size of your loft or how much of it you want boarded (not everyone does the entire area if its for storage). This is a job that you could do if you want it done mega cheap,(bear in mind that there would be some very minor timber work to support the ends of the boards as they will not fit exactly to your joists in places) otherwise post it as a job.A handyman would possibly be the cheapest for this kind of work.

An average usable floor space is around 30-40 sqm. with a decent hatch with integrated wooden ladder £1200 Including lights. Would not really suggest a handyman.
