Boiler pressure range of combi boiler?

Anonymous user 28/02/2024 - 3.47 PM

I have a gloworm boiler (4 months since installed) . When cold pressure holds at 1.0 bar, immediately after boiler has been running the heating and has reached temp shows 2.3 then falls back to 1.0 in about an hour is this a normal range for a boiler to operate at.. Don't know if it gets any higher than 2.3 as it has a digital display. Any advice appreciated Especially from a gloworm registered engineer or anyone who has experience of fitting a betacom4 boiler and knows what pressure range should be. Thanks Rootosh

1 Bar is a good pressure for your boiler, after start up and temperature is reached it should be around 1-1.5 Bar not 2.3 This sounds like a fault with the display gauge and should be checked out by contacting your Installer or Gloworm Tec:

Hi rootosh A Qualified Gas Safe Engineer would sign your manufacturers warrantee. If that same engineer is registered with Glow-worm boilers come with 2-7 years of warranty as standard but some models are eligible for up to 15 years of warranty through Glow-worm's Club Energy installers. You should have a manual with benchmark signed off by engineer also a helpline to advise you of any questions. I hope this helps thank you. All the best

As H2 o Solutions has mentioned, yes this is a good answer. However, the following guidelines should be followed first. 1. Make sure boiler and rads are cold, not warm or hot. When reading gauges. 2. Bleed all air out of the system first. Check boiler is registering 1 Bar Then test again

Could be a faulty expansion vessel or pressure gauge. It's a glowworm unfortunately they are cheap and thats what you get. I'd contact the warranty department.
