Plastering & Rendering

I have a wet wall and plaster from a shower valve leak. I intend to remove all affected plaster and then have vandex/triton TT55 applied. I have had conflicting opinions - one contractor says walls must be completely dry before doing the work, another says that Triton TT55 is breathable and with therefore allow the moisture to escape as vapour over time. Any thoughts? Thank you!
After hacking the damp off allow 24 hours to breathe then apply the vandex

ChesterfieldI presume that the damp you are experiencing is from the leaking shower valve. Therefore, once this leak is rectified the damp patches will dry and then you need to decide if any plastering is required. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON UNNECESSARY WORK.

After the damp plaster has be hacked off Brush the wall to get any loose brick and brick dust off Leave a day before applying the vandex The vandex will draw all the moisture out from the wall and only plaster over the vandex once the vandex has dried out completely It can take a while to dry depending how damp the wall is There will be a lot of water pulled through the vandex so I would put old dustsheets down to soak the water up

Any wall which has got wet must be allowed to dry otherwise you be trapping the damp in.
