Sewer line to run inside or outside the house

Anonymous user 15/03/2024 - 2.47 PM

Hi, is it advisable to run the sewer line inside the house or outside? Previously we had our sewer line running outside the house but our builder who is renovating our house has dug the sewer line that’s running in the middle of the living room to the rear garden. What are the pros and cons associated with this? if there are any leaks in the future will this sewer be easily accessible, esp now that we will have underfloor heating as well? Please advise, MD

Outside is always best if possible. There are procedures to overcome problems like leaking joints in the future such as drain lining. but installing drains inside (under) properties is a last resort imho.
