Glass paneled staircase

I currently have a glass paneled staircase and I am wondering if it is possible to remove the glass and add wooden spindles under the handrail or if I will have to replace the entire thing?

Hi,.. As usually you should be able to add spangles easy,... Ideally I will need to see a photo, or the job in a site visit.

yes it is possible to add spindles you may need bottom rails to accommodate spindles.
Any competent carpenter can do this quite easily.

Hi It all depends on whether the glass goes into the handrail, or held in with a bracket. The problem being that you need a handrail with a groove to be able to take a 30mm or 40mm spindle. If there is no groove under handrail, you will have to replace handrail along with new base rail to take the new spindles.
Hope this helps.
