Slow Filling Cistern

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.21 PM

The Ideal Standard cistern flushes fine but very slow to fill - drip feeding literally. What's likely to be the cause?

Either isolation valve isn’t on fully, or it’s tome to upgrade to a new filling mechanism. Can buy them from your local screwfix..

Have you tried adjust the flow inside? If not check no deposits have built up blocking the water outlet

Hi It might just be the service valve. This is a simple job and if it’s not this repair to the fill valve / replacement is easy and cheap. Thank you

Hi I believe its one of the two either the service valve is not fully open or the fill valve needs changing. Both shouldnt be costly jobs.
