K-rend issues. Looks patchy

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.19 PM

Hi. I have query and I hope you guys could help me, as I am in trouble my K-rend looks patchy. Its my firs time Im doing the coloured scratched. K-rend, but it over-dried. Basically I have applied on the wall 15mm K-d coat and left it dry, but the following day k-rend was to hard to rub down, but eventually with a lot of effort I have scraped it down but now it looks patchy, as it didn’t get same texture while scraped. If I apply a thin coat and rescrape will it works? Can you please give me a suggestion? Thanks.

Hi jake, with k-rend its better to apply the top coat early in the morning and wait till you can just about get you finger nail in the render then and only then should you scratch off, the only time you should apply the top coat on and leave overnight is when its very cold and then you should get up early and check the hardest of the render, and can you go over the top? yes you can, you stick the beads on with hp12 base coat over the top of the old ones and apply a thin coat of top coat on first to slow the suction down and then apply the top coat on as normal alwalys use a straight edge to take away the worse if you don't and you free hand the render, it will look lovely when the suns not hitting the wall but soon as the sun hits it you will see all the bumps and naughty bits, also you can cut back the bead like a chase and go into the old bead if you cant go over the top of the old bead sometimes you cant go over the top, its the mistake every renderer does when first using this product so don't worry its a easy fix with a low cost hope this helps... Many thanks Ryan
