Are Sandtoft tiles any good?

Anonymous user 15 March 2024 - 2.43 PM

Hi expert roofers, My architect has specified Sandtoft 20/20 flat tiles on our 15 degree straight ground roof extension with 3x Velux’s in it. The roof is on the sheltered side of the property. Our roofer is saying he doesn’t like them as they break if you walk on them, they’re difficult to replace and could leak. Any one else dis/agree? Anyone used Santofts successfully with no leaks? Cheers...

Hi you can use a Marley, Wessex or Mendip (smooth) both of which are fine on 15° But if it is a small tiles look you are going for then a 20/20 is really the only option

20/20 are a great tile and the only ones that will have a plain tile(ish) aesthetic at such a low pitch.
