Damp under stairs

Hi. I have a cupboard under the stairs an recently noticed that the side of cupboard that backs onto the staircase is very mushy wood and now i am seeing the damp creaping up the inside of the cupbord (panel to staircase) i have cleared it out so it empty and leave the door open to allow aor flow. A concrete floor was added about a 1.5 year ago. The otherside of the cupboard (that backs onto the kitchen wall) has bricks and the bottom ones close to the floor and very crumbly but feel slightly damp. Any ideas/suggestions wouls be great. Thanks
