Heavy machinery elements of project

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.40 PM

Hi, i have recently been quoted to remove an in ground swimming pool. We moved in knowing we would want to take it out. This has made me think of doing the work (partially) myself, does anyone know if it is easy/feasible to hire trades men to come in and do the heavy machinery elements? For example i need holes punching through the concrete with a jack hammer and a earth compacted with machinery.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

I have removed a number of swimming pools and it’s certainly not a job for someone with no experience in this field. You will find concrete as well as reinforced steel and usually if it’s been fitted correctly underneath the pool itself you will find a concrete base/raft. Once all this is broken out it also needs munching to separate metal from concrete. The whole area will have to be fenced off for health and safety reasons, hence why you need experience in this project.

Get a builder to look at it for you as it would be very dangerous to try it yourself.
