Help please with pipes and leaks (part 2)

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.18 PM

Thank you for responding to my question, (help please with pipes and leaks part 1). I very much appreciate it. I was wondering if we are able to disconnect the waste pipe from under the bathroom sink and pull the entire pipe out (from the pipe it sits in under the bath)would it be possible to secure some form of fixing (like a cone ring washer?)to that end and to then push it back into the pipe under the bath. We are not in a position to get the builder back in unfortunately

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

It sounds like you have a compression waste fitting ??????? If that's the case you can replace the fitting which is cheep and easy to do or re pipe using solvent weld Pipe & Fittings.

Hi, this sounds like a compression fitting, no you can't use foam or solvents you'll bodge the fitting up and it will leak in time or more worse flood your bathroom. A compete replacement is needed, I would remove it and pop to screw fix and ask for the same one to replace it. Here to help
