Hi there, I am redecorating my bathroom. There is a hole in the plaster through to the brick. It's about an inch deep and 12inchs in diameter. Whats the best way to prepare the hole to plaster over it? Many thanks
Ryan from RCB Landscapes Option 1 You can use universal bonding or hardwall Thistle is the best brand of hardwall just make sure you let it dry for a good 24 hours. Then use another material called gyptec easy fill to bring it flush to the surface which you allow to dry for 24 hours and is easy to rub down with any sand paper after that process you should have a flush surface which if you want to paint it would be fine to do so. Kind regards Ryan RCB Landscapes

Like rcb they said you can use universal bonding. Before bonding it won't hurt to remove loose dust (hover or brush) wet the patch a little using either water or water and pva 1:1 this will make sure that the bonding sticks properly and should fall or blow from the wall.

Scrape out all loose plaster around this hole Put on a coat of dilute unibond around the area using a brush You can then use whatever plaster finish you need to finish the wall off smoothly
