re-pointing my paving

will sharp sand & cement be OK for re-pointing my patio also would a dry or wet mix be better as I am adding a dye.

Simply make a dry sand - Cement mix, brush the same in with a fine spray watering can.

be careful if you are using dye it will stain your pavers if you brush it in

you can buy a coloured sweeping in compound that is resin based called geofix. this is a much more effective solution but can be a little costly. (worth the cost if you ask me)

It’s ok just be careful to use the right mixes and amount of dye.the fastest and most effective way I find is to get easy joint comes in all different colours.
