Epoxy flooring for flat
Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.16 PM
I would like a very glossy and waterproof flooring.
After looking at different covering I set on epoxy, which also means that I can make it very light) off white.
It will be going on top of underfloor heating (budget permitting).
Questions are:
1. What should be under it? I.e. I presume some kind of concrete? Screed?
2. Drying time? And number of coats?
I know, usually it is choice for not residential....
Actually, any advice, info would be great.
Thank you.

Firstly you want to use a flexible fibre latex I.e. Fball Stopgap 700 as your first coat so that the heat won't damage the latex then you would apply a primer again using Fball p131 then after drying (1 day) apply a second coat of latex stopgap 1200 pro a harder layer then again let dry for a day, it's important to turn your underfloorheating up only 1degree per day as this lets the latex dry properly and should not crack, there are cheaper products out there than fball but try to use the same brand through the the whole process as this will cover the manufacturing guarantee, hope this helps
