Roofing Question

Living room arctic ceiling plastering

Hi All,

My living room has an artex ceiling which might have asbestos. I was planing to replace it with the new roof but I am told that I should not touch the ceiling and I should consider plastering on top of this ceiling if I was my roof to be smooth finish. I have the same problems with living room walls which are also artex walls

Just wanted to check if this is good option to get the ceiling and walls re plasters or should I remove the old ceilings before plaster.

Asbestos is a killer it becomes hairborn if disturbed they call it the silent killer it can go undetected in your home for years if you come across asbestos I’d be really careful it can cause lung disease and cancer if your thinking about removing yourself use protected equipment full ppe /personal protective equipment / also look up the best ways to dispose of it one of the best ways to stop it going airborne is to use water dampen things down so reduced airborne particles try to cover up walkway and doors while you do the work try keep it in a confined space from a professional point of view I’d get it removed if you think it’s asbestos will your home insurance cover you if you ever get poorly
