Move a staircase

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.36 PM

Hi there, I'm looking to move a staircase running from first floor landing to loft conversion. Current staircase enters room in middle of floor leaving a lot of unusable space in the attic room. I would like to have to staircase enter the room along the edge, at the wall. I suspect it would require installing an L-shaped staircase due to space constraints. Any idea roughly how long it would take? Thanks

Providing you have sufficient head height in the loft this is certainly feasible. You should double up floor joists for the new opening. This could be completed within a week once new staircase has been manufactured. This would include making good existing opening and plastering. Regards mark (MAF Roofing Building)
