Vinyl flooring over tiles

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.17 PM

I am wondering if it is okay to put vinyl flooring directly over the tiles in my kitchen and whether I would need to put anything else down first? If it's okay to put the vinyl over the tiles, is it better to remove the kickboards from the units before laying it or just be rolled up to them (i.e. it wouldn't be under them)? Thanks

Personally, everytime we take on a job like this, we always make sure we screed the floor first to ensure there will be no danger in different levels, as you will notice it through the vinyl once laid. Never just lay vinyl over anything without having the levels corrected. Also with regards to the kickboards, yes take them off and lay it right back as far as you can go with it. Its a much better finish. I hope this helps Thanks Max @ M W Improvements
