Boundary fence around property

The boundary to our property runs alongside a public foot path and we want to put a 7’ fence around our land to extend the garden. We believe we require planning permission and does anyone know who long it takes to go through. There is currently a 7’ wall but this runs parallel to the house not the foot path so a grass verge seperatesv the house/wall from the path

You will require planning permission for a fence that is over 1.95m high (6ft6”) but in my expierence if it doesn’t obstruct a neighbour then you shouldn’t have a problem.

i assume you wish to include this grass verge into your garden you should make sure you own it first,if you do you should not have a problem, should be about six weeks.
