240v light on 12v circuit

Anonymous user 15 March 2024 - 2.37 PM

Hi, I want to use an existing 240v light within my 12v setup. I’ve changed the bulbs to 12v 7w bulbs and connected just the live and neutral to my setup, including transformer. All my other lights are bright but the bulbs in this lantern are barely visible. The transformer is not overloaded as it’s 60w and only have 35w running from it. Any solutions ? I really want this light on the circuit. Thank you

The only way of running the 240V light on the same switch line, is to find where the transformer is for the 12V lights and run a cable extending from the 240V side to the point wherever you want the light to go. Hope this helps.

The reason that is doesn’t work correctly is you have put a 12 volt supply to a 230 v fitting. 🤔
