Living room not warming up

Anonymous user 15 March 2024 - 2.37 PM

We have just had a new boiler installed (Worcester Bosch Greenstar i30) all rooms in the house warm up quite well apart from living room. Two small radiators which get red hot but don’t release any sufficient heat. I’ve bled the radiators and TRV’s set at 5 max. Front of radiator red hot bit back and fins not warm at all. Why won’t they warm up? Any ideas

I have this happening in my room and when we had new boiler, as well. Its because there's air in that radiator. Mostly you have on top sides something like flat screw cork, just unscrew them little bit to release all air (easy to hear) until water will start to fall out then close. Done.

Is there any particular reason why you have not discussed this matter with you boiler installtion engineer?! Recommend you invite him back to carry out a 'heat loss' calcualtion on this particuar room as the existing radiators may be under-sized!

your rads are undersized as if they are hot they are working properly ,but not big enough ,get a heating engineer to calculate size needed for room. or go on line to check, there are many sites witch will give you some idea of heat output that you need for this room.
