Electrical

Maximum socket load.

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.14 PM

Hi. I'm just wondering how much can be plugged in a extension lead which will be plugged into the socket. My total load would be about 45A. How would I saftly do this I was thinking of having 3-4 spurs to cover the 45amp each spur coming from each individual socket. Any suggestions. Thanks

13 amps even that would be pushing it for an extension lead. 45 amps? What on earth are you attempting to ‘plug in ‘ ?? Think you need the services of an electrician.

45AMPS!! Not through a extension lead! Even if you were to use multiple extensions spured off each socket to spread the load, chances are the socket circuit is rated at 32 amps. I would strongly recommend consulting a electrician to install a designated circuit designed and installed correctly to provide 45amps safely. I hope this helps

mmm 45amps is alot you are best spreading the load and getting it put onto 2 or 3 circuits if its things that need plugging in.
