My heating is on at 21 degrees but my house is very cold

Anonymous user 23 February 2024 - 3.13 PM

My heating is permanently on at 21 degrees but the temperature on the thermostat struggles to get to 18 degrees and my house is still very cold. The Windows are double glazed but I still feel drought coming through and through the doors. The walls are cold as well. What cost effective things can I do to keep the house warm without having to pay so much for heating as I have children under 2years. All suggestions would be much appreciated.

You must check if all the radiators are heating up, check the thermostat locations too If thermostats is near to one of the radiators then it may reach the temperature but may not heat up all house.

Sounds like your radiators might need 'bleeding', so research how this is done, also do you need to 'balance' your radiators ? again research this, its not that difficult and the results may surprise you. Best Wishes Lee (Davidson Architects)
