Installing door frame

Anonymous user 9 March 2024 - 2.53 PM

I have an open outhouse connected to my home that I'm going to turn into a small room. I have installed a door frame and will block work the rest. (Breeze Block) How do I knit the block work and cement into the door frame as I understand cement will not stick to wood. Thank you for any help you can provide. (UPDATE) thank you for posting a reply. I really appreciate it. Sadly building the wall first was not an option. I ended up useing a wall starter kit from Wicks. Worked amazingly well. Wall is finished and wall/door frame is as solid as a rock.

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello. You don't knit the block work to the door frame. The wall should be built then fasten the door frame to the block work with plugs and screws. I hope this helps.

Hi, first you would build your block work wall with an opening for your doorway and then after the block work is dry you would then fit your frame to the block work using plugs and screws. You need to make sure your block work has dried before fixing your frame though as if it is still wet you could risk the chance of disturbing the blocks
