Ivy removal from House wall

Hi there, wondering if anyone has any tips on how to kill / remove Ivy from the front of my house. Its a 2 story Victorian house, that I recently purchased, and the Ivy is at the front of the house growing all the way to almost the gutters, just on one side for now thankfully. Or would it be better to get a professional to do this? East London based. Many thanks.

Cut through the roots or as close and low to them as possible. Once this has been done I use a wallpaper scraper to get started and pull the loosened bits off as I go along.

You have to cut the roots first make sure you are thorough doing so , Let it start to die will be easier to remove them. Also where ppe Google’s and mask
