Assuming there's a hole about 1 inch in diameter inside a plaster wall, how can you see if there's anything inside? I try shining a light in there but it's completely black and when I poke a wire through it goes through to the wall on the other side. If there was something behind the wall it'd show up in the light straight away right? So because it's dark and I can feel the wall on the opposite side it means there's nothing behind the wall? Sorry. I'm an idiot, but an idiot who will appreciate any kind of help. Just to add a few more details, this is a wall in between 2 bedrooms. The boiler is on the opposite side of the house and the wires run down directly to the sockets from the attic (which I stayed clear of) and I only assume the radiator pipes run through the floor. Thanks for the reply guys! Although I don't know how to reply to your messages so I'm updating the question! Basically I hammered a nail into the plasterboard wall and I couldn't pull it out. It was about half arms length above my head so maybe it was the angle and I couldn't get any leverage for the pull, but I thought I might have gotten it stuck in something behind. Like I said I cut a hole in the wall and poked a thin wire around, and I couldn't feel anything until the other side of the wall, which was about twice the length of the nail I used in the first place. Thanks for the advice though. I'm buying one of these endoscopes and will put my mind at rest finally.
