Really odd problem has left our house cold just when we needed it! We've got a standard gas central heating system with separate water and heating controls. The problem is that now the heating won't come on by itself, it only works when the water is on too. Thermostat is where it should be and is working and nothing is obviously wrong elsewhere. In order to heat the house now I've had to turn the temp cutoff up to 70+ degrees on the hot water cylinder so that the heating stays on long enough to be of use. Electrical gremlins in the timer unit? Faulty divert(?) valve not reporting it's closed properly? Any help gratefully received!
