Filling loop problem

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.29 PM

Have a combined boiler and noticed the pressure gauge was pointing down, at the word bar. Th valve will only release a small flow of water, lasts 5 seconds and stops. So I put a new filling loop on, didn't replace the valve just the pipe. I then turned the heating on, bleed all rads and the pressure gauge or arm went backwards past 4 onto 3. I know it should be set at 1.5. Heating and hot and cold water working fine. Why would it go backwards, can the gauge be broken? Any help please M

it did not go backwards as you bled rads and let water into them the pressure in your central heating system decreased from 4 bar to 3 bar,get a boiler engineer to look at your boiler.
