Remove dado rails
Previous owner of property I am buying added dado rails in living/dining room... I want to remove these. Will it be possible to repair damage without the line showing through by skimming the area? Also poor plasterwork upstairs on covered up fireplace, can this be improved by getting it skimmed/ replastered? Thanks

Yes that can be done, assuming the backing plaster (or lime if the house is aged) are still intact a plasterer can blend it in.
