Niceic harbouring cowboys electricians
Niceic advised me not to report and take legal action against an electrician. If I do they will not help to resolve the matter.
To my mind the electrician is putting peoples lives at risk as he continues to install plastic consumer unit. The electrician also falsified the test results with out testing.
Is this how NICEIC suppose to work?
Update : I have now reported the company to the Trading Standards. This way I am not directly taking legal actions as this allows me to make formal complaint to NICEIC to investigate the rogue company.

It is good that you have chosen to take a no nonsense approach to this matter, though I'm unsure why the NICEIC have advised against legal action I would hope that they're taking the right steps themselves to ensure that the correct complaints process is being carried out which usually involves the electrician's membership being suspended pending investigation. This would require both parties presenting their case's and upon a stringent review involving a field visit/s where necessary in order that visual and functional inspection and test's can be conducted. In any case a plastic consumer unit should not have been installed.

I agree with Purcell Electrical and am disgusted that the NIC have not taken you seriously. Regarding not fitting a metal DB, there are exceptions where a plastic one is acceptable. i.e, in a garage that is not attached to the main dwelling.
