Central Heating

Electric or gas heating

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.27 PM

I have just bought a small two bed property that is heated with electric storage heating with an immersion heater for the hot water. There is gas on the estate but no gas supply at the house. I am intending to sell the house on after I have refurbished it. Should I fit gas central heating or should I replace the storage heating with modern panel radiators that can be used in conjunction with a smart phone. I am concerned that the house might be less likely to sell without gas central heating but acknowledge that electric heating does not seem to be an issue in apartments. If I do go for electric radiators, which ones are the best. Thank you

gas central heating is less expensive to run than electric so gas heating would be more inviting for possible buyers, but on the other hand it would be maybe a £5000 outlay by the time you get a gas meter and system installed which you will see no benefit from. It comes down to how much your looking to make on the property when you sell it an any additional profit a gas system would bring you.
