Regular air block

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.27 PM

Hi Team, I have an air block on the hot water system which is getting to be a more regular problem, I can feedback the cold water supply to remedy the fault but this only lasts a few days. Is there anything else I can do to permanently sort the problem?

Are you a tradesperson and able to answer this question?

Hello, I would suggest checking the part 2 ball float in the cold water storage tank, Air locks shouldn't be a common thing unless there are issues with the system. Check the ball float and water level of the tank, usually about 3/4 full.

Hi, Is there more than one bathroom in your property?? Do you have a cylinder for your hot water?? If that is the case you may need a Surrey flange installed on the cylinder. In a nutshell what is happening is the hot water level is dropping to much in the cylinder causing the airlock. Have you managed to get it sorted yet?? If not please let me know what system you have and I can try and be more helpful.
