Fitting Window Sill Covers Over Timber Window Sills

Anonymous user 28 February 2024 - 3.26 PM

Hi, I'm going to be covering my existing timber window sills with PVC Fascia Boards https://www.toolstation.com/shop/p58910?table=no, my question is how do I cut the board to match the existing architrave? http://i.imgur.com/7eIi3p3.jpg http://i.imgur.com/Ynj1msr.jpg Thanks!

From your pictures your cills look ok , but i understand your reasons for wanting to cover them , less painting , if you do this i would go to a building plastics depot , eurocell , gap , etc and buy from them , to cout into the arch , i would scribe them in so that it met all the contours exactly .

From the pictures there, the cills don't look that bad, just a sand fill and a paint? If you want to cover with the fascia, keep it long, sit it on the cill and butt it tight to the arcs on one side. Then use a compass set to the width of the largest gap and run follow all the contours of the architrave, it will give you a perfect scribe to cut out
