Skimming or re-plastering?

Anonymous user 3 March 2024 - 3.15 PM

Hi, we are currently removing the old tiles in our bathroom and the wall is in a bit of a state. Once we have all the loose bits off, is having them skimmed sufficient? Will that leave a smooth even surface? We are not re-tiling, we want acrylic wet wall instead. Thank you :)

You could just dryline the walls with plasterboard using a moisture board and put acrylic sheets straight onto board no need to plaster just fill any big holes and literally stick plasterboard to old plaster

Hi personally take off all lose bits and then fill the big holes I personally don't recommend plastering as it going to be covered with well all I hang loads of this day to day and personally fill the walls then straight over with the wet wall hope that this will help

If your installing wet walls you will need a good surface to bond so might need to board
